19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden championship after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface from March of that year.

The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved service.

He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to create a final set.

The opponent defended four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
