Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then discovered many other marked vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests suggest the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the residents for details.
An important official said the vandalism made him stunned and required to be solved quickly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the killing of nine people by a assailant targeting residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
